Simon-Anthony and friends run a play reading group called XBag, which looks to explore works by people of colour with stories about people of colour and, in doing so, build a network of creatives who share a passion for storytelling with diverse cultural representation. He then went to train on a course for advanced performers, a four-month musical theatre course at Associated Studios in 2014. Simon-Anthony Rhoden trained at LAMDA, graduating with a BA hons in acting in 2009. Her 2022 single “God’s Best” was the R&B/Soul winner of a Step Fwd Award. Shan has a degree in Music Business is a previous winner of the “Project Aloft: Star” for emerging artists won the Best Performer in a Musical at The Stage Debut Awards in 2020 for her portrayal of Eponine in the West End’s Les Misérables and in 2021 received a National Diversity Awards nomination in the Positive Role Model category. Theatre includes Hamilton (West End), Rock Follies (Workshop), Mandela Musical (Workshop), Children of Eden in Concert, “ Les Misérables: Staged Concert” (West End), Les Misérables (West End), “ Les Misérables: All Star Staged Concert” (West End), Whitney: Queen of the Night (UK & Europe Tour), and The Magic of Motown (UK Tour). Drawing on influences from soul, gospel, pop, R&B, jazz, folk, and reggae, she began releasing self-produced music as a teenager, writing lyrics to provide inspiration to young people. Joining the list of Brit School alumni is London-based singer/songwriter and guitarist Shan Ako.
